It weighs 60 ton and is 26 feet high
and 46 feet long constructed
in 1958.

Louis L'Amour born
 Louis Dearborn LaMoore in
Jamestown ND. He wrote
over 100 Western (fiction)stories.
 Louis L'Amour was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom in
 
Of Norwegian and Swedish ancestry,
Peggy Lee was born Norma Deloris Egstrom
 in Jamestown, North Dakota in 1920. Peggy Lee won
a Grammy Award for "Is That All There Is?" in 1969.
Former NASA Astronaut
Richard J. Hieb was born and
raised in Jamestown ND.
He logged over 750 hours in space
and 17 hours of EVA or space walk.

Fort Seward Commemorative
Plaque. The Fort existed
from 1872 to 1877. It basically provided
protection for 500 railroad workers building
the Northern Pacific railroad
 
 
 
Ft Seward at Jamestown ND honors it's
heroes.
We visited Ft Seward and it's history and
found local Tom Norman who gave us
a temendous background on Jamestown and
Ft Seward .thanks Tom Norman.
