The Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center is really an amazing place
located at West Yellowstone Montana. Our first stop was to see the bears - all nine
of them. These bears weigh as much as 1000 lbs down to about 250 lbs.
Nakina weighs about 400 lbs. Watching
these bears, they move boulders and rocks
as if they were mere ounces.
This grizzly is from Alaska and is much
larger than Yellowstone grizzlies.
The Grizzly Center with close supervision
allows children to hide food under rocks
brush or wood. Later after the children
leave the area, the grizzlies are allowed into the roaming
area and hunt for the food.
With Grizzlies penned, the children
plant food treats for the bears.
Wolves and coyotes often are confused by
humans. These are wolves.
