Elephant Seals close to Hearst Castle
and San Simeon CA
There were over 400 seals along this ocean stretch in the 1990's.
Today the population is over 17000 elephant seals.
We arrived on July 7, 2014 and the population is less than breeding season but many still gather here in the summer.

The seal pups are born during late January and
early February.
Notice how populated the beach is from July when we were there.
